Ms. Cara Piperni, project accountant in the Department of Accounting, has been named project manager for McGill's Financial Information Systems Project. Taking over her old responsibilities on an interim basis will be Ms. Christine Butler, the new acting project accountant.

Mr. Terence Monteiro, senior accountant, and Ms. Lea Archambault, general accountant, are also taking leave of their regular jobs to devote themselves to the FIS project. Replacing them for the time being will be Ms. Elvie Coletta, as acting senior accountant, and Ms. Roula Mpekios, as acting general accountant.

Professor Emily Carson is a recent addition to the Department of Philosophy. She completed a PhD at Harvard and her research specialties include 17th century philosophy and the works of David Hume. She teaches "Introduction to Deductive Logic."

Professor Parisa Ariya recently joined McGill in the Departments of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and Chemistry. An atmospheric chemist, Ariya looks at the impact of the physical and chemical processes involving atmospheric trace components on the Earth's environment and particularly on the planetary troposphere. She earned her PhD from York University.

Ms. Suzanne Bouchard recently started work as a recruitment and liaison associate in the Recruitment and Liaison Office. She had been the executive secretary to Principal Shapiro for almost four years. Bouchard is close to completing a certificate in public relations management from the Centre for Continuing Education. In her new role, she will contribute to several projects, including student recruitment trips to U.S. schools.
