NSERC's Site Visit at McGill

NSERC representatives will be at the University on September 15 to inform researchers of the recent changes to NSERC policies and programs and to provide information on the peer-review process, the functioning of GSCs and advice on the presentation of applications, with time set aside for questions.

The presentation will take place between 9 am and 11 am in the Stephen Leacock Building, room 232. All researchers, particularly those who are applying for a grant this year, are urged to attend this session. For more information, please contact Nancy Kwan at 8915 or nkwan@fgsr.lan.mcgill.ca.

NSERC Increases Grant Award

NSERC has made a 10% increase to all research grants, including individual and group grants in subatomic physics, for the current and subsequent instalments. Notifications of revised awards will be forwarded to all grantholders by the Research and Grants Office in due time.

With regard to the Research Partnership Programs (RPP) and Collaborative Project Grants, increased budgets for individual projects will be assessed case by case. Grantholders must therefore request an increase of up to 10% in the portion of the project budget that is allocated to research training and related activities for project phases from April 1998 onwards.

Requests must be sent to NSERC for the RPP grants by October 31, 1998 and for the Collaborative Project Grants and Collaborative Special Project by September 15, 1998.
