Electrical & Computer Engineering

Class of '44 Award for Outstanding Teaching (Faculty of Engineering)

I realized that I would enjoy teaching shortly after completing my undergraduate degree at McGill. One of my most memorable and influential teachers was Professor Pierre Belanger, who taught me Circuit Analysis, in Electrical Engineering. I have always respected his attitude and commitment to teaching, and I highly valued his contribution to my engineering education. He made it clear that learning something well is of life-long value.

I have enjoyed teaching my Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering course the most over these past years. Although "FEE" is only an introductory course for our students, I believe that it continues to offer many interesting challenges, opportunities and rewarding experiences, for both my students and myself. (It is probably not a coincidence that my undergraduate experience with Professor Belanger was at this same level.)
