Faculty of Management

Distinguished Teaching Award in Faculty of Management (Undergraduate)

The best piece of advice that I received was to always inspire the students with a deep interest in the subject matter, to provide students with a variety of learning activities, and to encourage them to take risks and to express their ideas freely.

The overall advice that I received and I always try to apply is to promote a meaningful learning environment.

This valuable advice has been passed on to me not only by outstanding professors who taught me, but also by respected colleagues. It has further been enhanced by my wonderful students and by my own teaching practices.

My favorite class to teach has always been the one in which we discussed current issues. The students came out of themselves to give their well thought-out input. Also, when my students become investigators, seekers, and problem solvers, and I become a facilitator and a guide, rather than a presenter of knowledge.
